First Furniture Redo

There are several pieces of furniture in our garage that are waiting to be transformed.  I decided to practice my painting abilities on this little shelf I picked up at a garage sale last year for $5 before I tackle the big stuff.

I sanded the piece and then primed using a grey tinted Behr primer.  Once the shelf was dry I used a mini foam roller purchased from Home Depot and gave the shelf two coats of paint.  I used Behr's "Black Suede" paint in a satin finish.

I think I'm ready for the next piece of furniture!

Painting furniture is an addiction. Similar to drugs and alcohol, so beware, LOL. You just took your first "drink". ;)

It looks great - can't wait to see what else you come up with!!

I love how a quick (or sometimes not-so-quick!) coat of paint completley changes the look of a piece! This looks great -- I never would have guesed it was your first attempt!

I am totally in awe of your furniture re-doing skills. That's something I wish I knew how to do! Maybe you could give me some tips :)

P.S. Was that real wood or laminate? Did you just paint it? I've got a dresser that's laminate and I've been wanting to paint it but wasn't sure if you could do such a thing??

Wow, from yard sale to Pottery Barn with a coat of paint. Great job!

Looks fantastic!!

I've been thinking of painting the furniture in my kid's room but I've been nervous about trying it and not liking the outcome. I think I should just jump in and do it!

Go for it girl-get those other pieces done. This one looks AWESOME!!
I am letting everyone know--if you haven't signed up at the new blog, you need to RE-Sign up. Google doesn't let you take your followers with you. If you have already done so --sorry for mentioning it. I am going back and forth between the old and new blog plus my old and new e-mail and I can't keep it all straight. I am hoping to have the old blog finished up (moving everything) and closed down this week.
