Fall Garden

I'm sad my garden is slowly ending its growing season.  Even though my tomato plants are brown and scraggly, there's still some green in my garden.  My chives are shooting out beautiful blossoms and I found a caterpillar chomping away at my parsley.

I have never seen a monarch caterpillar in real life. Well, I guess I still haven't but it feels kind of like it did. LOL

Your photography skills are amazing. The monarch caterpillar is beautiful. Reminded me of all the year I spent teaching the life cycle of the butterfly to 3rd graders. Our school district provided us with live caterpillars so that we might experience metamorphosis, hands-on! So beautiful.

Beautiful Emily! It's so nice to still see some green out there! Do you have a macro lens?

Oooh, pretty pics! Always sad when the garden winds down. I think that's a parsleyworm. We've ended up with a few of them as pets :)

That's a great photograph--so clear! I guess we have to put up with a little chomping so we can see the butterflies later! Linda

Great shots....love the black swallowtail caterpillar. He was probably going to make a chrysalis not too long after that shot. Normally they are green but every once in awhile you will find the black. They are beautiful!
