It seems a little crazy to me that most of the stores around here are marking down all the summer stuff and sending it to the clearance aisle. Didn't summer officially start just last week?! There are some stores I refuse to walk into this time of year (ahem, Hobby Lobby) because I am not ready to be greeted by Christmas and Thanksgiving decor.
I guess I can't complain too much because I've found some great deals lately — like this cute wicker vase. It makes the perfect centerpiece for our kitchen table and I love how it looks filled with hosta leaves.

Emily, I love that vase. I had to go to Hobby Lobby twice this week for craft supplies and was shocked to first see Halloween stuff out and then yesterday they were putting the Christmas stuff out. Really???

I know exactly what you mean. I saw Christmas stuff in Hobby Lobby a week or two ago, and I almost broke out in hives. I have too many things to accomplish in 2011 to think about it ending! It's just madness. Don't they have a warehouse to store those things in until the fall?
Your new vase is really cute though, and I love the sparkly mat on which it sits. I have a gold, round one like that, but I like the square darker color on your dark wood table. It looks great!
I do love summer sales! Never thought to put my hosta's in a vase, but it looks beautiful! I will be cutting some tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration!!
