I've been saying the last couple weeks that I don't feel like decorating for Christmas and that I will probably keep the decor very minimal this year. Ha! Yeah right. Last night hubby and I pulled out the Christmas bins from storage and I forgot how fun it is going through everything. I also forgot how much stuff I bought after Christmas last year. Score!
One of my favorite things to unpack are the ornaments. I like having a few whimsical, memory-filled ornaments mixed in with the pretty ones. Our new thing is to buy a "vacation" ornament. Those bring back wonderful memories!
Here's our newest ornament from our amazing trip to Savannah.
These two ornaments may be my all time favorite. It doesn't get much cuter than a little tiny knit hat and sweater. :)
Our cheesy little ornament from Hawaii.
A mini version of us on our wedding day :)
This is one of my favorite "pretty" ornaments.
Everyone needs a blender ornament, right?!
Little Stanley.
And no tree is complete without a Christmas pickle.

how fun! We buy "vacation" ornaments too! I LOVE it! We also try to add a new "meaningful" ornament each year to represent something that happened that year for us. We started that tradition when we got married, so of course that year is a was a "wedding" ornament. And we picked out our 1st "vacation" ornament on our honeymoon! It's so fun to revisit where we got each ornament and what it means to us!
Cute ornaments, Emily. I love picking up new ones to blend with the old ones, too.
These are adorable Emily! I love when people have meaningful (and even quirky!) ornaments on their trees. It makes them so much more interesting to look at!
Love your pics Emily. I said the same thing in regards to minimal this year. NOT going well for me at all.
I was just in Atlanta, wish I'd bought an ornament!
Unpacking the ornaments is a lot of fun! Love the little sweater.

Oooh I love this!! I think I'm going to do a post like it - it's really fun to see what's on your tree!
And I guess mine is "complete" because I have a pickle ornament too!
I just realized our pickle is missing! Ummm wonder which child is hiding it!
Cute ornaments! Isn't it so much fun unpacking them every year! It's like taking a trip down memory lane. Thanks for sharing them with us :)

Cute! I started unpacking everything today. It was a bit overwhelming and I kept saying to myself, "I'm just going to keep it simple." ha ha Famous last words, right? We shall see!
Take care!
By the way, Love the pickle shot!

Love your eclectic collection of holiday ornaments...I'm a big fan of filling the tree with things that mean something to your family. We just finished ours up tonight! Love the holidays!
That all looks pretty and vacation ornaments is a good idea (hmmmm... you're right it brings back good and fun filled memories)
I am married to a minimalist swede ;))
Happy Christmas Emily!
I think I agree...those sweaters would be a 'favorite' for me too. We have the pickle ornament...but the finding of the pickle and the extra gift below to the one that finds it doesn't work anymore since it's just the two of us. I still hang it on the tree tho. LOL

My tree is full of ornaments just like that. I love things that remind me of a place we have been or the reason that I bought it.
I am hanging our ornaments now. Had to go back to Walmart for 2 more boxes of lights!! Now I am ready for ornaments!
Don't you just have memories tied to your ornaments? Mine are usually more tied to the boys when they were little and a few from when I was a kid. I get a teary eyed every time!
You have some really great ornaments! We also try to buy one when we go on vacation. It used to be more difficult to find them out of season, but now, every place we go, it seems there is a place to buy Christmas ornaments. Thank you for sharing this fun post for Favorite Things. laurie
Adore the gherkin and the itsy bitsy sweater.
Thanks so much for linking up Emily! Woohoo!
I always have a pickle ornament on my tree too-and dogs of course. My tree is a mixture of lots of different ones. I do love your blender ornament!
I *love* the blender ornament! Where did you find it???
@ NKeller - I found the blender ornament at Hobby Lobby a couple years ago.
You have some great ornaments! LOVE the little knit sweater and hat. Thanks for sharing. Also, thanks for visiting my blog and glad to have found yours.

Hello Emily. Thank you so much for stopping by my site and leaving such sweet comments. Apparently blogger dropped me from your list of followers, as well as a few other blogs and I am just realizing now. But I think I fixed the problem so I am back as a loyal friend.
I love all the great pictures of you beautiful ornaments. Especially the one that looks like Stanley.
