Pizza Time

Ahhh, pizza.  By far one of my favorite things to eat.  I love a good ol' greasy pizza that's delivered to my door, a delicious Chicago style pizza, Costco's cheese pizza by the slice... You name it, I eat it.  I also love homemade pizza.  I usually cheat and make the dough from a packaged mix, but this time I decided to make the crust from scratch.  It was totally worth the extra effort and it wasn't nearly as much work as I anticipated.

I used Wolfgang Puck's pizza dough recipe.  It was simple to make and the dough was very easy to handle.

I baked the crust for about 8 minutes before adding these toppings:

And here they are fresh out of the oven.  Both pizzas were delicious!  I love the combination of pesto and tomatoes on a pizza, and something wonderful happens when artichoke hearts and bacon are combined - scrumptious!

It's 9:30 am. Not too early to go make these right? They look freakin delicious! And ugghh, I'd love to be able to get past the pre-made crust hurdle. It's.just.too.easy!

I think I'll be stealing that artichoke one! They look delish! Have you ever tried doing them on the grill before? I was leery the first time, but now I think it is THE best way to cook them.

Your pictures are incredible. Both of these flavor combinations look so good. We actually built a pizza oven in our kitchen when we remodeled. I will be doing a post on it when the Fall comes and it cools off a bit. We do it sometimes in the summer by just cranking up the AC. Both of these would be so great to try.

I found you through Tasty Tuesday, love your site (& am now a follower)and my family always loves homemade pizza. Have you ever tried it on the grill? We don't have AC in our house so I have tried just about everything on the grill. It is fabulous and it doesn't heat up the house!

We love making homemade pizza, too, but oooh! I haven't thought of bacon, chicken and artichokes together. That one is making my mouth water, even as I type!!

Emily - Both of these pizzas look amazing! I'll definitely try bacon with artichoke hearts soon. Most times I cheat and use a box crust too (Jiffy brand - made in Michigan and it's like 60 cents a box!) but when I have time I love to make the crust from scratch too. It always feels like a real accomplishment!

Your pizzas look amazing! I must confess that I cannot do without a sweet/spicy RED sauce. The sauce is my favorite thing on a pizza. Homemade crust is definitely worth the trouble.
