Garden Update III

Last night when I was watering my garden I spotted my first ripe tomatoes of the season!  There are a couple sweet 100 and yellow pear tomatoes that are almost ready to be devoured.

I am a little bummed about my garden this year.  I don't know if it's due to the massive amount of rain we received in June and now a dry spell, but a lot of the leaves have turned yellow and most of the blossoms have dried up.  I'm trying not to think about it too much because it really frustrates me!  Last year my tomato plants were so lush and green.  I'm going to blame it on the new dirt we added and mother nature.  That makes me feel a little bit better :).

Stanley loves helping me outside.  He's on bunny patrol and chases those pesky critters out of the yard.  Needless to say, he's feeling like a new dog after his knee surgery!

I love the garden update (especially the three different shots of your garden and how they have changed over time - love it!).

My tomato plants are looking quite yellow on some of the leaves too. I'm wondering if it's from a lack of water. I've really been trying to only water them once a week (I read that this was best), but I feel like I'm depriving them and they are thirsty.. LOL.

So cute that Stanley helps you chase the bunnies. Maddie likes to chase the random crows that show up, the squirrels (who love to hang upside down and eat my bird seed off the feeder), and the birds.

Hope you have a blessed day!

I think it looks wonderful. I've gotten just a few cherry tomatoes here and there but the plants are covered with blossoms, so I'm expecting an explosion sometime soon. Your little raised tomato bed is so cute and I bet your weather will cooperate soon to help them along!

I think your garden looks wonderful! If it makes you feel any better, my leaves are a bit yellow too and I've noticed quite a few blooms that have dried up. That's Kansas weather for ya!

Your garden is looking great! Mine got a super late start, but hopefully we'll have fresh tomatoes soon:)

Oh I love the garden updates!! Your tomatoes look yummy! And I had the same problem in AZ when we had a big garden - some years everything would be great and occaisionally we'd have a year where everything was brown. Hard to figure Mother Nature out. ;)

Don't get frustrated with the garden, even the best gardeners don't always grow the best each year. It's really out of our control for the most part.

P.S. So glad that Stanley's knee is doing so well.

We are having the same problem with our tomatoes. Do you think the leaves turn yellow from too much water, we aren't sure why this year isn't as good as last year, too!!
Hurray that you have a few red tomatoes!

I love seeing the month to month progress of your garden! So jealous you're able to have grown your own fresh veggies. Can't do that in my city apartment ;)

Also, the dog= the cutest thing I've seen all day! :)
