My Newly Organized Pantry

I've been meaning to clean out our pantry for a few weeks now.  It was a total mess.  I would just throw stuff in and quickly shut the door hoping it would stay.  I've never been crazy about the design of our pantry.  The shelves are so deep that stuff would get shoved to the back and never see the light of day again.  I was reading Lisa's blog over at Popcorn Served Daily and she had just posted pictures of her organized pantry.  I was completely inspired and started on ours that evening!
One of the biggest changes I made that has helped a TON was taking out two of the shelves.  You would think that more shelves would equal more storage.  Nope.  Taking the selves out made organizing so much easier.  And you can actually see the back of the pantry now!

Look at this mess!

I made some fun container labels using Photoshop.
These aren't really necessary but once I start organizing I get a little carried away.

A well stocked stash of popcorn and hot chocolate is essential for these cold winter evenings. :)

I have all the baking items in this corner.
It's so handy to have the flour and sugar right there instead of digging around in cabinet for it.
Why didn't I do this sooner?!

I've found that Big Lots has a great selection of little shelves and bins.  What I didn't find there I got at Target.

It was a big job to tackle the mess but It's making things so much easier in the kitchen.
Thanks Lisa for inspiring me to organize!!

Emily, you have such a nice pantry with wooden shelves. I have those horrible wire shelves that stuff can fall through. Love your labels. I don't know how to make things like that with a computer. I will have to get my daughter to teach me. One more thing to learn.

Hi Emily! What a fabulous transformation! I love the labels and you are motivating me to work on my own pantry some more. This is the first house where I have actually had an "official" pantry and I need to make the most of it! :-) Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Inspiration Friday!

It looks great!! Ours has the same problem - it's so deep that stuff disappears in the back, never to be seen again. :) I love the idea of the shelves and the bins. Thanks!

Looks great! I have those same style cabinets and the deep shelves have always seemed like wasted space. I've added some lazy susans to them to be able to spin things around to see what I have. Love the labels :)

You have a nice, wide pantry - mine is an actual closet and is too deep to really keep everything in close sight. Looks great!

Great Job! It looks amazing! I love your cute little labels. I just organized my pantry for the very first time, and I was think the same thing..."why didn't I do this sooner?" It's so much easy for my whole family to find what they are looking for. And when I open the door, it makes me smile. :)
Thank you for linking up to my party!
Blessings,
Traci

The organization is fabulous, truly fabulous.. but Emily, I'm still in shock that you use Peter Pan peanut butter. I've never strayed from JIF, am I missing out in life?

Love those labels Emily! I want some too! Our pantry is unorganized, maybe one day I'll get to it.

Happy to say I cleaned and organized our closets this month! That was a huge endeavor! :)

You are the second post tonight that I've read where they have organized their pantry. This is definitely a sign that I should too. I thought about it earlier today and then quickly dismissed it, but now I am convinced I should tackle it this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration! You did a great job and I absolutely love the labels. Yes, I get a little carried away too so I can completely appreciate what you did. Haha!! I'm your newest GFC follower. Have a great weekend!

This seriously is so funny and so ironic. Just yesterday, when my husband and I got home from the grocery store, I was attempting to put groceries away and was disgusted - got in a BAD mood, because I want so badly to do something with our pantry, just like yours! This might have finally lit a fire under my behind! Thanks for sharing :-)
