Gourds Galore

I've been eyeing all the cute gourds every time I'm at the grocery store.  While shopping this afternoon I noticed they were marked down to 20 for a $1.00.  20 for a $1.00?!?  Let's just say I went a little gourd crazy :)  Once I got home I realized I probably didn't need 20.  I would have been fine buying a few.  Oh well!  

I added a few to the dining room table centerpiece.  Three down, seventeen to go...

Yummy Apple Snack

I think I've had this for a snack almost everyday the last couple of weeks!  There is something about eating an apple with sharp cheddar cheese that is so yummy.  I just discovered Honeycrisp apples this fall and can't stop eating them.  They are so sweet and crispy, hence the name Honeycrisp - ha!

 

Pumpkin Waffles

I clipped this recipe out of a Taste of Home magazine a couple years ago and finally decided to give it a try.  Since I love all things pumpkin, I had high hopes for these waffles and they did not let me down!  The pumpkin flavor is very subtle but it makes the waffles so incredibly moist and delicious.  I still need to give the Maple Cranberry Butter that's included in the recipe a try.  It sounds really good!

Weekend Wishes

Fall Garden

I'm sad my garden is slowly ending its growing season.  Even though my tomato plants are brown and scraggly, there's still some green in my garden.  My chives are shooting out beautiful blossoms and I found a caterpillar chomping away at my parsley.

Poblano and Guacamole Burger

This is quite possibly the yummiest burger I have ever eaten!  My husband and I always order the "New Mexico" burger from Ted's Montana Grill and just recently it occurred to us to make our own burger with a southwest twist.  

Here's what you need:

Grilled Burger

Cheese, Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack work great

Roasted Poblano Pepper

Guacamole

Butter Toasted Bun
