Topiary Time

I have always been crazy about topiaries.  There is something so cute and whimsical about them.  I had some extra flowers from a previous crafting endeavor that I decided to put to good use.  Since I had most of the supplies, the three topiaries were less than $10 to make. 

 
I sprayed the pots with two coats of paint.  After they were dry, I cut floral foam blocks to fit nice and snug inside the pots.  I covered the stem of the large flower with the bottoms of the curly sticks and used the tops for the other topiary.  My plan was to make two topiaries, but I couldn't resist these cute little things I spotted at Michaels this morning.  What a perfect topiary top!  And they were half price :)

More Snow and Ice

I've had enough of Winter.  I'm sick of the snow.  I'm tired of being cold.  I'm ready to trade in my extra pair of socks and slippers for bare feet and flip-flops.  At least the snow and ice make for some pretty pictures...


Instead of my garden looking like this:

And I'm ready for the beautiful peonies to start their blooming process.

Belated Valentine Cookies

I'm not a big fan of baking cookies.  I get the urge to whip up a batch maybe once or twice a year.  For the last few weeks I have been really excited to make some cute Valentine cookies.  I had all the stuff ready to go and then our silly oven decided to stop working.  Our brand new oven arrived yesterday and before my husband had a chance to hook it up, the sugar cookie dough was made.  I used the recipe from my favorite cooking blog, Our Best Bites.  Click here for the cookie recipe.

Centerpiece Transformation

I couldn't resist these two centerpieces I found at the thrift store this week.  I figured the urns alone were worth the $12 price tag.  After a trip to Hobby Lobby for some new sticks and greenery, I was ready to to tackle the project.

Deal of the Week

I have been trying to organize our office the last few days.  Our desk gets SO cluttered with pens and little pieces of paper.  Ugh!  I ran across this fun desk organizer at the thrift store and knew it would be perfect for the office.  I applied a couple coats of my 99 cent Home Depot spray paint (love that stuff!) and added some photos.  Not too bad for only $2.00!

No project is complete without a touch of Stanley :)
